New Job Placement Statistics information.
Two new scholarships are being created exclusively for the M. Act. Sc. students. These scholarships are expected to begin Fall 2012. Details to follow later.
Congratulation to Prof. Carole Bernard who received the SCOR-EGRIE Young Economist Best Paper Award for her paper with Prof. Steven Vanduffel from Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), Belgium. The paper is entitled "Financial Bounds for Insurance Claims" and was presented at the 2011 EGRIE seminar (European Group of Risk and Insurance Economics, in Vienna. (Sept. 2011)
Congratulations to Prof. Johnny Li and Prof. Mary Hardy who received the "Harold D. Skipper Award for the Best Paper Presented at the Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association 2011 Meeting, Japan". This paper is published in North American Actuarial Journal (2011, Vol 15, No. 2). (August 2011)
Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited invited the University of Waterloo to join them at their annual shareholders' meeting on April 22, 2010 to showcase UWs' Actuarial Science programs. The event was held at Roy Thompson Hall in Toronto. Joining UW Actuarial Science students were Prem Watsa, UW Chancellor, and Mary Hardy, Director of UW MActSc program.
